Leadership Coaching

Coaching  Overview

Our job as coaches is to peel back the layers and help our clients uncover what's really going on beneath the surface and discover who they are at their core. Through non-judgmental, thought-provoking questions, we provide new perspectives which stimulates new insights and actions for our clients. We offer both short and long-term coaching engagements that both incorporate leadership assessments (e.g. Hogan, EQi, Leadership Circle) and involve stakeholder input throughout the process to encourage transparent communication, accountability, and results that benefit the leader and the organization.
Coaching supports the individual by:
  • Enhancing self-awareness around individual strengths and areas for development
  • Analyzing patterns of behavior and identifying new behaviors to achieve new results
  • Questioning key assumptions, beliefs, or mindsets to create positive, sustainable change

MCG believes in a “systems approach” even with one-on-one coaching. This means that coaching is designed to benefit not only the individual, but also the participant’s team and the organization at large. The team and organization benefit by:

  • Increased leader and team engagement (and increase in morale and motivation)
  • Stronger team and client relationships leading to new work opportunities
  • Enhanced communications leading to an increase in trust and respect

"A good leader inspires people to have confidence in the leader, a great leader inspires people to have confidence in themselves."
- Eleanor Roosevelt

What Coaching IS and IS NOT

Coaching is a:
  • Discovery method in which the Coachee holds the answers
  • Long-term, transformational process
  • Action-oriented discussion
  • Process focused on strengths, growth and development
  • Non-judgmental approach
  • Authentic and transparent discussion
Executive coaching is not:
  • Advice giving in which the Coach/Mentor holds the answers
  • Short-term, quick solutions
  • Philosophical discussion
  • Focus on fixing problem areas and/or weaknesses
  • Guidance on right approaches to implement
  • Filtered discussion for the workplace

What clients are saying...

"You taught me to dig in, be curious, be more confident, and to challenge myself in a way that is constructive and exciting.  I have and know that I will continue to use these strategies and tools both in my career and in my personal life. It’s also so empowering and motivating to see an entrepreneurial woman balance a successful career with a strong family life, so thank you for modeling that.”
"As someone who trains and tests coaches I've had the opportunity to see and hear a lot of people coach. Laura has a innate ability to connect with her clients in an authentic and powerful way and in doing so create powerful shifts in her clients. These shifts create new awareness and new possibilities for action that help clients create lives of meaning and purpose."
"I’m skeptical by nature—wary of pat answers and simplistic, one-size-fits-all advice. You won’t get that with MCG. My coach was skilled, smart, genuine, and incredibly perceptive. I don’t think anyone has ever figured me out so quickly. She asked exactly the right questions; put her finger on the real issues; gave me clear, sensible advice; and left me feeling up-beat and confident."
